All eleventh grade scholars will take the ACT with Writing test April 4-7th. The ACT is the capstone of ACT College and Career Readiness Solutions, and it is aligned to Alabama's College and Career Readiness Standards. The ACT with Writing is administered to all Grade 11 students enrolled in Alabama public high schools. The ACT is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States.

Announcing New Business-focused Summer Programs for Teens at The University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business The University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business is excited to announce its 2022 slate of summer programs for high school learners. Those programs include the Minerva Young Women's Business Summer Program, the Diversity in Business Bridge Program, and the Marillyn A. Hewson Cybersecurity Summer Camp. Diversity in Business Bridge Program June 19th - 25th, 2022 The Diversity in Business Bridge Program (DBBP) provides additional college preparation, with a specific focus on business as a major/career, thereby promoting postsecondary success for underrepresented minority students by helping them make a smoother transition to college. Dedicated college financial support will be available to program graduates who enroll at UA to pursue a degree in business. Diversity in Business Bridge Program Details Minerva Young Women's Business Summer Program June 12th - 17th, 2022 Minerva is designed to introduce young women who are rising seniors to the college experience and business career opportunities. During the week, students will participate in informative sessions with Culverhouse College of Business faculty and staff, learn about career opportunities in business, build leadership and communication skills, complete a service project and take field trips for experiential learning. Hewson Cybersecurity Summer Camp Camp 1: June 6th - 10th, 2022 Camp 2: June 10th - 17th, 2022 CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks. Full-Ride Scholarships at the University of West (UWA) The Biology Opportunity and Scholarship for Success II (BOSS II) program has TEN (10) $8,500 annual scholarships for freshmen students interested in studying biology at the University of West Alabama. A student with an ACT score of 22 can take the BOSS II scholarship ($8,500) and Tiger Achievement Award ($2,000), a total of $11,500 (60% of the attendance cost is covered). A student with an ACT score of 33 can get the BOSS II scholarship ($8,500) and Trustee Excellence Award ($12,000), a total of $20,500 (100% of the attendance cost is covered). 6X4A3568.jpg To be considered for the BOSS II scholarship, the complete application should be received as early as possible.
