Last week Dr. Charles Kidd and his Technology team visited all campuses of the nurses offices of WCPSS. During the visit the team was able to connect all Telehealth equipment that will be used by each school. The Telehealth Program allows us to offer these options to the students and guardians of our system. We are excited to have this new update to better serve our system. More information will be sent home with the students next week.

WCHS Update WCHS has 4 scholars who will be traveling to Dallas, TX. to compete in the JAG National Career Development Conference on May 4-8. These students earned scholarships to travel and compete in the Creative Design Making category. Best Wishes in your competition scholars...Go Jags!! WCHS UPDATE Please congratulate Kasia Nicholson as she received the 2022 Bryant-Jordan Achievement Award tonight for Class 4A Region 2 in Birmingham at the Sheraton Hotel. She was accompanied by her mother, grandmother, school and athletic administrators.

The Delta Pi Lambda Educational Foundation, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will award scholarships to graduating seniors in the Black Belt. To apply, interested seniors must submit a completed application form and documents by the deadline, Friday, April 29, 2022. Senior cap and gown delivery day is tomorrow at 9:00. Junior ring delivery day is tomorrow at 11:00.

WCHS Update: The ACT will be administered beginning on April 7th for ALL 11th grade students. To ensure that we are successful, all students should be well rested, laptops must be fully charged, no electronics, cell phones, apple watches or other devices will be admitted in the testing site. Parents and guardians, please be sure that your son and/or daughter is present and on time each day for this assessment. We appreciate your partnership and involvement in your child's educational success.

Due to the anticipated threat of severe weather, Wilcox County Public Schools will conduct an e-learning day on tomorrow, April 5, 2022. All students and staff will work from home. Students and staff will return on April 6, 2022.

Due to early dismissal, all after school activities have been cancelled for today.

WCHS Update The WCHS Senior Parent Meeting today was a success. Parents who attended the meeting received valuable information on FAFSA, Edgenuity, important dates, dues/fees, and their child's current academic status. Students were also able too register to vote with Mrs. Sheryl Threadgill spearheading the initiative. Parents and guardians, the WCHS faculty and staff would like to thank you for being the world's best parents to the world's best students. Go Jags!!

Free College Level Math and Science Courses Wallace Community College Selma is offering free STEM-related (Math and Science) Academic courses for Dual Enrollment students at no cost to you. Let us help you get a Jump Start on your college career. You can enroll in the following courses, Computer Science (CIS 130, CIS 146, CIS 147, CIS 161, CIS185, CIS 191, CIS 209, CIS 268, CIS 269, and CIS 280); Biology (BIO 103 BIO 104, BIO 201, BIO 202, and BIO 220); Chemistry (CHM 111, and CHM 112,); and Math (MTH 100, 110, MTH 112, MTH 113, MTH 125, MTH 126, and MTH 227). Junior and senior scholars participated in a college tour today at The University of South Alabama.

Attention WCHS Senior Parents and Guardians, There will be a mandatory senior meeting on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilcox Central High School Gymnasium. Parents are asked to bring your child , your most recent W-2 forms or 1099 forms, pencil and paper. Every Senior and Parent or Guardian must attend!!
