Attention parents of WCHS class of 2023:
Effective with the 2021-2022 school year, the following requirements shall be fulfilled on behalf of the graduating senior as part of the graduating senior’s transition into postsecondary education, training, or the workforce:
1. Submit to the United States Department of Education a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); or
2. Certify a non-participation waiver, in writing, to the superintendent of the local education agency if the graduating senior chooses not to complete and submit FAFSA.
FAFSA night will be held on October 4th from 3:30-5:30 to assist seniors and their parents with completing the FAFSA.
WCHS Peer Helpers were introduced to the student body today. Peer Helpers for the 2022-2023 school year are: Alexis Albritton, DeAsia Collier, Christen Dunning, Leslie Jones, Isaiah Love, Christopher Rogers, Kristian Rogers, and Neveah Beverly. Not pictured: Tiyonna Bonner. The Peer Helper coordinators are Robin Williams and Alexis Tucker.
Wilcox Central Lady Jaguars will play against RC Hatch today in the WCHS gymnasium at 5:00pm.

Parking permits must be purchased and paid by Thursday, September 22, 2022. The cost for a permit is $25.00. The parking contract/registration form for the permits can be picked up in the front office. To completely register your vehicle(s) please make sure you bring the following:
Contract/registration form completely filled out and signed by student and parent.
Copy of your driver's license.
Vehicle registration.
Proof of insurance.
$25.00 exact cash or money order. No checks.

Please plan to join us for the Countdown-to-College Workshop with Potential on October 18th from 10am-11:30 am at Wilcox Central High School. This information-packed workshop is designed to help 8th-12th grade students and their parents prepare for college.
At the end of the workshop, there will be the chance for a door prize so make sure to stay through the end for a chance to win a free JBL Speaker! Attendees will leave this workshop with:
● Insight into the college admissions process
● Scholarship opportunities
● Tips to earn scholarships
● Full understanding of the 3 areas that ACT scores impact
● ACT/SAT tips for improving scores
● Impacts of different real-life scenarios (missing deadlines, changing your mind, etc)
● Benefits of community college attendance and dual-enrollment
● Tips to maximize your FAFSA-based grants and awards
There will be registration forms provided at the workshop. The registration form will be entered into our scholarship drawing for a chance to win a $500 scholarship.

Updated Dress Code!!
As we prepare to welcome our scholars back this fall, please prepare your son/daughter to come to school dressed in the Wilcox Central High School Uniform Dress Attire. The basic uniforms shall consist of long or short-sleeved collared polo shirts and khaki-style pants/bottoms. Please remember that torn clothing, open-toe shoes, slides, crocs, slippers, and headgear will not be permitted at any time. This will enable us to keep a visual watch on all students as they learn and maintain their day-to-day activities.
Pants, shorts, dresses, and skirts:
Pants, shorts, dresses, and skirts must be khaki or navy blue in color. Skirts, dresses, and shorts must be at knee length. Skinny pants, tights, leggings, or sagging pants are not permissible.
Shirts
All shirts must be three-button polo style solid colors.
· 9th Grade- Red Shirts Only
· 10th Grade- Navy Blue Shirts Only
· 11th Grade- Gray Shirts Only
· 12th Grade- Black or White Shirts Only
Fridays will be school spirit. Scholars will be allowed to wear WCHS school spirit shirts with uniform pants.
Book bags and purses are prohibited. Scholars are allowed to carry laptop bags.
HOODIES OF ANY KIND ARE NOT PERMITTED.
