Parenting Day is tomorrow!
WCHS scholars attended Connection Day at Alabama State University on Saturday. Scholars toured the campus and and received information about housing, admission and financial aid.

Countdown to College is today!
Our new Peer Helpers Program features a multi-tiered approach to prevention and support that will address the social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that impact them during this critical phase of their development. We are excited about introducing the first component of our program called PATH, Prevention and Awareness for Total Health. PATH lessons will be taught once a month in classrooms. See parent letters for more information.

WCHS will participate in Alabama College Application Week Campaign sponsored by Alabama State Department of Education October 17-21, 2022.
The goal of the program is to get more students applying to Alabama colleges early in their senior year. During this event, students may apply to any of the Alabama community colleges, independent colleges, and public universities in which they are interested for free.

Please plan to join us for the Countdown-to-College Workshop with Potential on October 18th from 10 am-11:30 am at Wilcox Central High School. This information-packed workshop is designed to help 8th-12th grade students and their parents prepare for college.

All tenth grade scholars will take the PreACT test Tuesday, October 4th- Thursday, October 6th. PreACT offers sophomores an early experience with ACT test items, provides a predicted ACT test score, and offers a wealth of information to help students get the start they need to be college ready. See testing schedule below:

A special thank you to the Wilcox County Extension Office, Ms. Burroughs, Mrs. Vines, and Mrs. Glenn for providing our senior scholars with a very informative workshop on the FAFSA. Scholars received resources and step by step guidance for completing the FAFSA.
FAFSA opens October 1st. FAFSA night is scheduled for October 4th from 3:30-5:30.
