Attention Parents and Guardians, below is the WCPSS 2022-2023 Academic Calendar.

The Wilcox County Board of Education Summer Feeding July 6-29, 2022! Bring your kids out to get breakfast and lunch at one of our school sites! See attachments for other community sites in your area for lunch!

Last week Dr. Charles Kidd and his Technology team visited all campuses of the nurses offices of WCPSS. During the visit the team was able to connect all Telehealth equipment that will be used by each school. The Telehealth Program allows us to offer these options to the students and guardians of our system. We are excited to have this new update to better serve our system. More information will be sent home with the students next week.

Due to the anticipated threat of severe weather, Wilcox County Public Schools will conduct an e-learning day on tomorrow, April 5, 2022. All students and staff will work from home. Students and staff will return on April 6, 2022.

Please be reminded, there will be no classes for all WCPSS students on Friday, March 11th. All staff and faculty are asked to report to their designated schools for professional development. Students return to in-person learning on Monday, March 14, 2022.🍎

Attention parents of Wilcox County Public School System. There will be a System-wide Parent Training on Wednesday, March 8, 2022 @ 4:15 p.m., in the Board room of the Wilcox County Board of Education. The purpose of this training will be to introduce you to PowerSchool. Happy New Year from the WCPSS! All Wilcox County students will return to school on tomorrow, January 4, 2022. Our mandatory mask regulation is still in place. Please be sure to check backpacks for items that may need to be discarded, and replenish supplies as necessary. Please note, If your child is showing any symptoms related to Covid-19, or he or she has been exposed to someone positive, we ask that you do not send them to school at this time. Please contact your child's school nurse if your child has tested positive, showing symptoms, or has came in close contact with someone who is positive. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and update you as information because more available. Our first priority is the safety of the school body, and we look forward to providing a safe and productive learning environment for the remainder of the school year.

Greetings Parents and Guardians, Per WCPSS Superintendent Dr. Andre’ P. Saulsberry, the WCPSS will have a virtual learning day on Friday, November 12, 2021. All students will complete assignments on Friday from home. Regular in-school learning will resume on Monday, November 15, 2021. On November 8, 2021 WCPSS will have a systemwide Parenting day from 8-4 at each school. Students will work from home. Parents will be permitted to visit with their child’s teacher at the school to discuss student progression. On November 11, 2021 all WCPSS students and staff will be off in honor of Veterans Day. November 12, 2021 is Kindness Day. Students and Staff will represent the theme “Kindness is Contagious” by dressing as twins with a friend. On November 17, 2021, students are scheduled to receive progress reports. From November 22 -26, 2021, WCPSS will be closed for Thanksgiving Break.

On Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8, 2021, students will work from home. On Thursday, October 7th, we will be working expeditiously to process and inventory over 400 personal computers to make them available to the students who do not have computers yet. On Friday, we will have a cleaning day in which all of our system schools will be sanitized. This is in addition to the daily sanitizing that we conduct. As far as confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Wilcox County Public School System, we have a total of 22 consisting of one adult and 21 students, which has been uploaded to the Alabama Department of Health and the Alabama Department of Education. We thank you for always being concerned about your children as we work as a team. However, we think it is imperative that you are provided with accurate and correct information versus hearsay. Monday, October 11 will be a professional development day. We look forward to seeing all of our students return on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Thank you all for your feedback from the progress reports. Let us continue to teamwork so that we can make the dream work for all students. Attention Parents and Guardians, Below are the WCPSS updates for the week of October 4 - 8, 2021 10/5 - All 10th grade scholars will take the PreACT test. Students must report to school no later than 7:45 am. 10/5 - Wilcox Central High School will host a FAFSA completion workshop to provide tips and answer questions regarding the application at 3:00. 10/7 - On Friday, students may wear jeans and pink shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 10/8 - is Picture Day at J.E.
